Zoom Guidelines

To ensure that our virtual classrooms remain safe and secure we must insist that ALL families adhere to the following guidelines:

Students MUST:

  • Use their name (or a parent’s) as the user ID (the teacher will not admit a name they do not recognize)
  • Enable video camera
  • Keep microphone off until the teacher asks you to turn it on
  • Display proper ‘classroom behaviour’ by not calling out and following the rules of the classroom.

Your child’s teacher will review specific classroom rules with the students.

Teachers will use the ‘Waiting Room’ function at the start of each class.  It is recommended that your child join the meeting 3-5 minutes early to ensure a timely start.

Note: Your child’s teacher will likely disable the chat function during lessons as this can be a big distraction when they’re trying to teach.
